Biography
I am currently (2017) working as a research associate at the University of Manchester. I finished my PhD towards the end of 2015, supervised by Bijan Parsia and Uli Sattler.
I received my Diplom at the University of Cologne in Media Informatics and Media Law in October 2010. After 9 months of wwoofing and backpacking (Greece, Japan, Canada) I moved to England, first to work for the OeRC in beautiful Oxford (content management systems), and then to start as a member of the amazing first cohort of the newly established “Centre for Doctoral Training” at the School of Computer Science at the University of Manchester.
Research Overview
I am interested in the application of ontologies in clinical systems, modular reasoning, reasoner benchmarking, OWL ontology corpora and teaching ontology engineering. Methodologically I like to be on the empirical evaluation side of things.
Other Interests
Apart from my exciting work with ontologies, I am also interested in content management systems, especially Drupal, and semantic (web) technologies in general. I also love travelling, hunting for the meaning of life, french rap and chopping wood.
